Projects: Social, Green, Profitable.

The following are the current projects being done by the Social Entrepreneur Club. We hope to develop business plans first, then present them to investors. After that we will make these projects into businesses. If you are interested everyone is welcome. We do have specific positions that are desired.

MagLev Train– San Diego to Los Angeles

With this project we will propose the Maglev train that would run from SD to LA with 6 Tracks. 3 Tracks going one direction 3 the other. 2 tracks would have limited stops, 2 would have multiple stops, and 2 would be specifically non-human business commerce. Major stops in Anaheim, Long Beach, San Diego, Los Angeles. This will not be the first Maglev train proposed in Southern California, however, it is a different approach. Students will work together to create the proposal. The MagLev Train will privately ran, built, and operated with government subsidies.

Key Points:

1- Three types of tracks: A Limited-stop track, A Multi-stop track,
and a Freight Track.

2- Each type would have tacks going both directions (North/South or
East/West) making the total number of tracks at 6

3- Tracks would be tubular- Eliminated much air-resistance ( the main
source of resistance for a Maglev). Also with the tracks being tubular
the freight track will be able to have a full vacuum because it will
have no passengers (train can be controlled remotely). A full vacuum
would allow the train to travel at ultra fast speeds.

If your not sure why they would have at such speeds… remember the
tubes that you would stick documents into and they would be sucked up
really quickly to another room? That concept is how it would work.

Also having tubular tracks will eliminate much of the noise that
Maglevs produce. The noise is another reason these trains are not
heavily used yet (in addition to cost of course).

The tubes would be created out of AAC concrete (aerated concrete).
These would be better for possible earthquakes and better insulation
then regular concrete. AAC is also lighter and just as strong,
therefore easier to work with.

4. Much traffic would be eliminated therefore making the freeways more
efficient.

Green Building Project

Green Building is here. We hope to create designs that can make houses and commercial buildings more efficient. One of the goals is to create plans for student dorms and faculty housing for colleges and universities. We will make business plans that entail everything from design plans to location.
